Countdown! With one month to go, excitement is building for the Toowoomba Writers’ Festival. The festival “aims to showcase the region’s unique blend of writers while bringing them together in a celebration of creativity and learning”. Scheduled for November 15, 2014, the festival kicks off with an early morning “Ginko walk” through the Japanese Gardens and Haiku reading. Free workshops, writers’ market, open mike and presentation of writing competition awards will then follow at St Luke’s Hall, cnr Ruthven and Herries Streets from 10am. I am personally looking forward to seeing our local writers come out of hiding and share their talents with the public. This is a great opportunity to be inspired and meet those who have begun their journey as authors, illustrators and publishers. For further details go to the website: http://toowoombawritersfestival.com.
