Every new book release is exciting and this is no exception. ‘Leonardo da Finchi’ is my latest gem. This children’s book not only evokes conversation around inventions, art and endangered species but also encourages our young readers to be creative, determined and inspiring. Based on the vibrant Gouldian finch and inspired by the brilliance of Leonardo da Vinci, this tale is about a lovable character who, through determination and encouragement from a sincere friend, discovers his true abilities.

“Excited to share a new book by Terese Eglington ‘Leonardo da Finchi’ is Terese Eglington’s FOURTH BOOK and honestly, beware, you won’t be happy until you have a ‘boxed set’. Terese is a master of watercolour and the vibrancy of this book will have many a small child in wonderment and you will honestly love reading the story aloud!”
Although it has been a while since I first started this project, every step has been a great learning process. It’s amazing where the research for this book has taken me, from endangered species of northern Australia to the brilliant mind of da Vinci. With lessons in watercolour to improve my skills and studying the Gouldian finches up close, I have truly enjoyed the journey. Now it’s time to share my ideas, my art and my teachings with children and hopefully help them through some of the social issues they encounter.
Join us in celebrating the official launch of ‘Leonardo da Finchi’ at the Cobb & Co Museum, Toowoomba.
